Zvizzer Marine Thermo Trapez Pad Green - The Hard Cutting Pad for Oxidised Gelcoat

The Marine Green Hard is the cutting pad in Zvizzer's marine trapez range, the firmest of the three and your first stage on tired, weathered gelcoat. Its dense foam backs an aggressive cutting compound with the support it needs to shift oxidation, chalking and deeper scratches that softer pads skate straight over. That firmness is the point: it drives pressure into the surface, so you cut faster and level defects that months of sun and salt have baked in.

Like the rest of the range it is built on thermo foam. Where a standard cutting pad softens and tears as it heats, this twin-foam construction stays thermostable, holding its shape and its cut through the heat and friction that heavy correction generates, and lasting several times longer for it. An inner hole lets the foam relax and shed heat as you work. At 180mm it covers the large hulls, topsides and decks of marine work quickly, and it runs on both rotary and orbital machines. It is the pad to reach for when a boat needs bringing back, not just refreshing.

Application

The Green Hard pad works on both rotary and orbital machines. Fit it to a clean backing plate, then prime the face lightly with your cutting compound before the first set.

Apply 4-6 drops of compound to the pad and spread it over your section before bringing the machine up to working speed. Work in firm, overlapping passes and let the pad and compound cut before you move on.

Keep the face clean as you go, since a loaded pad loses its bite. Have a spare on rotation and let each one cool between sets to hold a consistent cut. Rinse in warm water or a pad cleaner and air-dry. Sized 180mm (180/25/160 mm).
