Zvizzer Thermo Trapez Pad Red - Heavy Cut That Gets Into Contours and Edges

The Red Trapez is the heavy-cut pad in the range, the one you reach for to start serious correction on shaped panels. Its firm foam backs a heavy cutting compound with real support, clearing deep scratches, heavy swirls and oxidation in fewer passes, while the tapered profile lets you drive that cut into edges, curves and tight radii a flat pad rides straight over. It is the workhorse of correction, sized and shaped for the areas that usually get skipped.

It is built on Zvizzer's thermo foam, staying thermostable where ordinary hard pads warm up and go soft, which holds the cut steady through long sessions and gives the pad several times the working life of standard foam. An inner hole at the centre relieves stress where the force concentrates, so the foam stays intact through hard cutting, and in the smaller sizes it concentrates that cutting power for spot correction. As one of the most cost-effective thermo pads, you can keep a few in rotation without a big outlay. Use it as your first cutting stage, then drop down through the colours to refine.

Application

The Red Trapez is designed for orbital (dual-action) machines. Fit it to a clean backing plate and prime the face lightly with your compound before the first set.

Dispense an amount to suit the pad size and your working area, then spread it over the section before bringing the machine up to working speed. Work in firm, overlapping passes and let the compound cut before moving on.

Keep the face clean as you go, since a loaded pad loses its bite. Have two or three pads on rotation and let each cool between sets to hold a consistent cut. Rinse in warm water or a pad cleaner and air-dry.
