The Marine Black Soft is the finishing pad in Zvizzer's marine trapez range, the softest of the three and the one you reach for last. It takes gelcoat and marine paintwork that has already been cut and refines it to a deep, hologram-free gloss, lifting the fine haze and light micro-marks a medium pad leaves behind. Its signature is a soft, open-cell foam that flexes over curves and contours without dulling the finish, so the shine you build holds right across a hull.

What keeps it working is thermo foam. Where a conventional soft pad warms up and collapses, this twin-foam build stays thermostable, holding its structure under heat and pressure so your finish stays consistent from the first section to the last. An inner hole lets the foam relax and breathe as it runs, and the pad is built to outlast standard foam several times over.

At 180mm it is sized for the larger flat and gently curved surfaces you meet on boats, topsides and decks, and it runs on both rotary and orbital machines. Pair it with a marine finishing polish and it becomes your final gloss stage before protection.

Application

The Black Soft pad works on both rotary and orbital machines. Fit it to a clean backing plate, then prime the face lightly with your finishing polish before the first set.

Apply a 4-6 drops of polish to the pad and spread it over your section before bringing the machine up to working speed. Let the soft foam and the polish do the refining under light, even pressure; there is no need to lean on it.

Keep the pad clean as you go, as a clogged face drags down the finish - you can use Pad Cleaner to help with this. Have a spare on rotation and let each one cool between sets, since a cool pad holds a truer finish. Rinse in warm water or a pad cleaner and air-dry. Sized 180mm (180/25/160 mm), sold singly.
